Farming for the future
Organic farming in the UK

Pupils at Hawes Down Infant school, in Kent, have their own gardening club. Club members get together to grow their own organic vegetables. This means they don't put any chemicals on the plants to kill off pests like insects or slugs, or to make them grow more quickly. It's a much cleaner and healthier way to grow things as it doesn't pollute the soil, or our bodies when we eat the veg!

Club members don't just use the things they grow to cook food like soup. They also sell the plants and veg they grow, and use the money to buy seeds to grow more!

Club members told Global Gang, 'We like the gardening club. It's fun watering our plants and growing things – and we love digging and getting dirty!!'

Meet more Global Gangers who are trying to put things right.
