Peace rules OK!
Cool club

Some years ago, war broke out in Yugoslavia, and many people were forced to leave their homes to escape the fighting. In Novi Sad, thousands of refugees from Croatia and Bosnia gathered together in camps. Many were children who were shocked and frightened because they had left everything they knew behind – their homes, friends, schools and toys.

Thanks to 'The Youth Meeting' some of them now feel safe and more hopeful about the future. Children from the camps get together with local kids and have loads of fun dancing, playing and learning how to make toys and games. They can also find out more about each other and where they come from.

When your country is at war, and you find yourself living with lots of people who seem very different from you, it can be hard to try and understand each other, but these kids have found out that they actually have lots in common!
