Road to hospital blocked by soldiers
Muhammed knows a lot about hospitals. He's seven, and has to go to hospital three times a week. The treatment keeps him alive.
He used to travel from his home. Now, the roads are blocked by soldiers with guns who stop and search everyone. Muhammed and his parents are afraid that if they go home, they won't be allowed back for his next medical treatment. So they stay near the hospital instead. Eight-year-old Suhur has the same illness and goes to the same hospital. She still makes the scary journey from her home.
Fighting has lasted for years
The hospital is in Jerusalem. Life there is full of violence and fear. There have been killings, shootings and bombings. The Israelis and the Palestinians are arguing about who should live in Jerusalem and nearby areas. Fighting has lasted for many years. At the moment, things are very bad. Israel has taken control of Palestinian land, and that's against the law. The Palestinians want Israel to leave the land it has occupied.
Families run out of food and water
Palestinians, like Muhammed and Suhur, live in places that are strictly controlled by Israeli soldiers. They can't move around freely, so families run out of water, medicine, milk, food and electricity. Israel says this is to stop suicide bombings and other attacks on Israeli people, including children. Christian Aid is one of many groups around the world who believe it is only making things worse.
Ghadir and her sisters are very poor. Their father used to work as a labourer in Israel, but now that he can't travel there to work he can't earn any money. They often go hungry. But they manage to play and dream, and are helped by churches and charities. Their father prays for peace.
