Wednesday 27 March
I went to a school today. The children use small hand-sized black boards and chalk because they don't have pens and paper.
Thursday 28 March
I went to the tailors in the morning to be measured up for an Indian suit. It was quite cool. There was a whole row of tailors, about 30 of them.
I was going to a cooler city quite high up in the mountains called Koodiacanal. The roads were curvy and bumpy. I thought it was quite dangerous. As we went up higher, it got cooler it was amazing. We were driving through the clouds. The temperature made me feel like I was back in Wales.
It was amazing to see all the people living up the mountain, and all the farms and the smell of eucalyptus trees. We booked into a very posh hotel, and it poured down with rain after we got there. What a difference from Madurai. I had a bed to sleep on again. When I saw the pool table, I felt like I was back at home in the community centre.
Saturday 30 March
I couldn't wait to go home and see the family. I had to stay in Bombay for 10 hours for the next plane. While we were waiting I went sightseeing. I couldn't believe there was a McDonalds in the town centre.
Sunday 31 March
At 4am we got on the plane back home. I landed safely and saw dad in the airport. It was a great feeling.
After this experience of living in India, I'm going to be more appreciative of what I've got. We have toilets to sit on instead of bending down. We don't have to sleep on the floor. My school is the size of a palace, and I've got toys to play with, pens to write with and pencils to draw with. It's not fair that we have so much and they have so little. I want to do something about it.
