Yi Ling went to Hong Kong and China

Sunday 5 August
Today we visited a walled village in a part of Hong Kong called the New Territories. My mum's family is from a Chinese tribe called the Hakka people, and many of them live there. It was as quiet as mice there and I didn't like the people much actually. A lot of them complained and some of them swore at me in Cantonese.

I've now got more than 10 mosquito bites and some of them are poisonous. Horrible!

Monday 6 August
Today I made a new friend. Her name is Carol and she lives in the walled village. I went to her house and we talked a lot. We've got lots of things in common. We both like ballet and pets.

I was feeling quite tired today. I go to sleep very late every night and wake up very early because I don't want to miss out on the fun. It's impossible to do everything, though. At least I've tried.

You have to go to Hong Kong because it's beautiful, especially at night. There are lots of lights, so everyone can see where they're going, I think. It's fun too. I've learnt such a lot in Hong Kong and China. It was a very good holiday. I want to go again!
