How healthy are you?
Super squirrels

'My uncle and I have just caught this squirrel for our tea!

They're not easy to catch, you have to stone them as they climb trees,' says Srinivas, 11, from India. 'We go hunting every evening and catch birds, mongoose and rats, but my favourite is squirrel, it's very tasty!'

Srinivas and his uncle don't just use the animals for food. They use them for medicines, too, which they sell.

'There are lots of plants and herbs which can be used to cure illnesses, or things like snakebites, too,' explains Srinivas. 'You collect the bark, roots, flowers and leaves of different plants. We dry them and crush them to a powder, or we put them in tea. I always use herbs when I'm ill.'

'I might like to be a doctor when I'm older, if we can afford the fees. But I don't want to study modern medicine with vaccinations and pills. I prefer traditional medicine,' he says.
