Heba went to Egypt

I fed a camel

About Heba

Heba, 8, lives in London, but her parents are from Egypt. Heba had always wanted to visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx, so on her trip she went to the capital city, Cairo, and saw lots of famous sites.

Heba's diary

Saturday 1 June

I was very sad to leave my mum, brother and sister behind, and I cried. The plane to Egypt took about five hours and I felt sick. My uncle was waiting for us when we arrived at the airport and took us to our hotel to sleep.

Monday 3 June
We woke up very early and went to the Pyramids. There are 64 pyramids in Egypt. I saw the three big ones in Cairo. Then I went on a camel, it was pretty scary! One of the camels was shaved and had patterns on it. When I fed it, it tried to eat my hand!

After that we went to the Sphinx and to the El Azher mosque. It was beautiful and really huge. Then we went to a market and I bought some presents for my family.

Tuesday 4 June
Today we went to the countryside, to a place called Dashour. I had a really lovely time. I made a friend called Dooa. She was very nice and kind.

Check out some of the games we played together.

We met a man called Uncle Gamal who has goats. He took us to a place where there are lots of them. I saw one with a really fat tummy. We helped to feed them. It was fun but a bit scary. The big one came out and tried to escape, but me and dad managed to stop it.

Dinner time for hungry goats!

Later on we went on a cart with a donkey, it was really fun. I had a ride on a donkey by myself. Then we went to see a lake but it had dried up because it hasn't rained. We met a lady who is a Bedouin, they wear beautiful clothes. I asked her a lot of questions.
